Register/Renew Your PTIN Number
Beginning January 1, 2011, all paid federal tax return preparers must obtain a PTIN and renew it annually or penalties may apply. Tax preparers can renew online through the IRS Tax Professional PTIN System, or by paper application. It costs $64.25 for new registration and $63 p/year to renew your PTIN.
